Artemidoro, mencionado por Estrabão (XII, vii, 2; XIII, iv, 15), coloca esta cidade na Pisídia, e o próprio Estrabão (XIII, iv, 17) a localiza, sob o nome de Isinda, na região de Termessos. Políbio (Excerta de leg., 31), Ptolomeu (V, 5) e Estêvão de Bizâncio a chamam de Isionda, Isindos, Pisinda, Sinda; é referida de maneira semelhante nas "Notitiae episcopatuum". Lequien (Oriens Christ., I, 1033) dá os nomes de cinco bispos que assistiram aos Concílios Ecumênicos de Nicéia, Éfeso, Calcedônia e Constantinopla (553), e ao sínodo fotiano em 878. A localização provável desta cidade, que não possui história, é em Istanoz ou Stanos, uma nahié do sanjac de Adalia, na vilaiete de Conia.
