Jesuíta, nascido em Madrid, fevereiro de 1585; falecido em Lima, Peru, 7 de agosto de 1670. Ingressou na Companhia de Jesus em 1603 e foi ordenado sacerdote em Lima, em 1612. Foi nomeado para a cátedra de filosofia em Quito, no Equador, partiu depois para Arequipa e finalmente para Lima, onde faleceu. Lecionou (com interrupções) durante vinte e cinco anos no Peru e passou seus últimos anos escrevendo a "Historia del Perú y de las fundaciones que he hecho en él la Compañía de Jesús". O manuscrito encontra-se no Arquivo Nacional de Lima, em estado de deterioração irremediável.
Jesuit, born at Madrid, February, 1585; died at Lima, Peru, 7 August 1670. He joined the Society of Jesus in 1603, and was ordained a priest at Lima, in 1612. He was appointed to the chair of philosophy at Quito in Ecuador, went thence to Arequipa, and finally to Lima, where he died. He taught (with interruptions) for twenty-five years in Peru, and spent his last years in writing the "Historia del Perú y de las fundaciones que he hecho en él la Compañía de Jesús." The manuscript is at the National Archives of Lima, and in a hopeless state of decay.
