Apóstolo da Córsega, nascido em Milão, 1533, de uma ilustre família lombarda; faleceu em Pavia, 11 de outubro de 1592; declarado Beato por Bento XIV, 23 de abril de 1742. Após alguns anos de estudo sob mestres capazes, ingressou muito jovem na Congregação dos Barnabitas, tornando-se professor de filosofia e teologia na Universidade de Pavia, e posteriormente Superior-Geral da Congregação (1565). Em 1571 foi nomeado por Pio V para a antiga sé de Aleria, Córsega, onde a fé estava quase extinta, e o clero e o povo se encontravam em estado de deplorável ignorância. Com a ajuda de três companheiros, reclamou os habitantes, corrigiu abusos, reconstruiu igrejas, fundou colégios e seminários, e, apesar das depredações dos corsários e da morte de seus companheiros, colocou a Igreja em condições florescentes. Em 1591 foi nomeado Bispo de Pavia, onde faleceu no ano seguinte. Deixou várias obras, principalmente catequéticas.

After some years of study under capable masters, he entered the Congregation of the Barnabites at an early age, and became teacher of philosophy and theology at the University of Pavia, and later Superior-General of the Congregation (1565). In 1571 he was appointed by Pius V to the ancient see of Aleria, Corsica, where faith was all but extinguished, and clergy and people were in a state of deplorable ignorance. With the aid of three companions, he reclaimed the inhabitants, corrected abuses, rebuilt churches, founded colleges and seminaries, and despite the depredations of corsairs, and the death of his comrades, he placed the Church in a flourishing condition. In 1591 he was made Bishop of Pavia, where he died the following year. He left a number of works chiefly catechetical.
