Historiador beneditino, nascido em Roma (segundo outros, em Ancona) em 1657; faleceu em Foligno em 1737. Aos vinte anos ingressou no mosteiro de São Paulo em Roma, de onde foi enviado a Monte Cassino para completar seus estudos. De 1687 a 1695 ensinou filosofia em vários mosteiros da Congregação Cassinense. De 1697 a 1722 dedicou-se à pregação e tornou-se famoso em toda a Itália por seus sermões quaresmais. Em 1722, o Papa Inocêncio XIII nomeou-o abade do mosteiro de Siena; em 1729 foi transferido como abade para o Mosteiro de São Pedro em Assis, e em 1734, para o Mosteiro de São Feliciano, próximo a Foligno. Escreveu a "Bibliotheca Benedictino-Cassinensis", uma lista e esboço cuidadosamente compilados de todos os autores da Congregação Cassinense, e algumas outras obras históricas e hagiográficas concernentes à Congregação Cassinense dos Beneditinos.

At the age of twenty he entered the monastery of St. Paul in Rome, whence he was sent to Monte Cassino to complete his studies. From 1687 to 1695 he taught philosophy at various monasteries of the Cassinese Congregation. From 1697 to 1722 he devoted himself to preaching and became famous throughout Italy for his Lenten sermons. In 1722 Pope Innocent XIII appointed him abbot of the monastery at Sienna; in 1729 he was transferred as abbot to the Monastery of St. Peter at Assisi, and in 1734, to the Monastery at St. Felician, near Foligno. He wrote the "Bibliotheca Benedictino-Cassinensis", a carefully compiled list and sketch of all the authors of the Cassinese Congregation, and a few other historical and hagiographical works concerning the Cassinese Congregation of Benedictines.
