Foi suprimida em 1213 e unida a Acqui em 1405; suprimida em 1803 e restabelecida como independente em 1817. Esteve vacante de 1854 a 1867. Conta com 116.000 católicos; 61 paróquias, 143 padres seculares e 188 igrejas e capelas.
